What Does “Giving Reasons” Mean?
Why are you late?
I am late.
I am late because there was heavy traffic.
1. Giving Reasons with “Because”

I am learning English because I want to improve my communication skills.

Because at the Beginning of a Sentence
- Because I was tired, I went home.
- Because it was raining, we stayed inside.
- Because she was busy, she couldn’t come.
2. Asking for a Reason with “Why”
- Why are you late?
- Why are you tired?

Why are you learning English?

Why + Because

| Why are you tired? | Because I worked all day. |
| Why did you stay home? | Because I was sick. |

Why + question? → Because + reason.
